About Us

About Us

BluesMusicFan.com is pretty self-explanatory.  We’re are fans of the genre of music called The Blues, so much so that we run a radio station playing the blues 24/7.  The blues is as simple or as complicated as you like them. It can be as homespun and rootsy as picking up a guitar and plucking out three chords, or it can be as grandiose and complex as filling a stadium full of screaming fans and wailing away on the Telecaster.  It is the core from which most popular music has sprung and it flows in our veins and its notes and rhythms affect us. Because of all that, we have stuff to say, to share, to put out into the universe with the hopes that someone else can relate to it.

All poetry aside, we live in two different “lives”.  We have our “real lives” that we live every day.  We go out and work our jobs, do our things, and then when we have some time, we cross a virtual border into virtual world called Second Life. It’s complicated and wonderful, but the important thing is that we found a thriving community of people who love the blues! A community that meets 24 hours a day 7 days a week, it never closes.  It resides in a junkyard, on a wharf, at the crossroads or at the delta of a river – but what comes down to is this:  We all love the blues in that community and we thrive, we’re involved! We’re not passive listeners. Some of us even get to live out some lifelong dreams, like being a DJ and bringing the music we love to people and some of them actually listen to us and like what we do!  If you’d like to join us – go to www.secondlife.com – we’d love to have you!

About Jordan Morgenrote

Avatar picture of Jordan MorgenroteJordan Morgenrote is an avatar in Second Life of a woman who lives in downstate New York on the New York/New Jersey border.  She is also a DJ (DJ “Jersey Girl” Jordan) at several of the blues venues in Second Life and is grateful for her modest but loyal following. She is a big fan of the blues, cut her teeth on what’s known as ‘classic rock’ and is a rusty guitarist, graphic designer and web developer in real life.  She has a “favorite” song/artist/cd every single day, gives her loved ones whiplash from her lack of segues and pretty much just loves music, period.

    Hi!

I am looking for Layla Zoe’s “Hootchie Cootchie Woman” CD. Can’t find it on Layla’s website, Amazon or Ebay. If you have a suggestion I’d be grateful! Thanks

Is there a place to see who the on air DJ is “at the moment’? If not, it would be a nice addition to the website. A name and a link to their profile or blurb about them.
    Thanks 🙂

Great suggestion, Gala, and we appreciate it. There are a number of tweaks we are working on to improve listener/web site visitor experience, and they’ll be rolling out as soon as we can get em out!

I’m excited to learn that Joe Bonamassa is a judge for the 2016 International Songwriting Competition. I hope he gets a chance to hear some of my entries.
